… FOR AKYAKA:
Security - The citizens of Akyaka can be certain that the town’s street dogs are well-cared for and
regularly monitored to make sure they remain healthy and safe, with the most vulnerable of them
given a home in the THANK DOG paradise.
Publicity - The positive publicity generated by this project will attract many dog-loving tourists to the
region of Muğla not only from all over Turkey, but also from other countries, especially Germany and
Great Britain which traditionally have a big community of pet lovers. Humans willing to adopt a dog
will stay at least some days in order to spend time at the THANK DOG paradise and get to know “their”
dog, booking accommodation in Akyaka and getting to know this beautiful town… and whoever has
spent some time here will surely come back!
Economic Growth - The THANK DOG paradise will also be an economic factor, creating jobs in the
region and having a positive and lasting impact on local businesses.
… FOR HUMANS:
Information and Education - Informing and educating humans on how to better communicate with
their dogs will make their relationships more rewarding.
Practical Help and Assistance - Both dog owners and people who don’t have dogs themselves can turn
to the THANK DOG crew for assistance. In particular, we want to help also those people here in Akyaka
who cannot afford to pay for a course, but need assistance with a dog-related problem, be it with their
own dog, somebody else’s dog or indeed a street dog.
Job and Career Opportunities - To realise a project such as the THANK DOG paradise is a lot of work!
Maintaining the grounds and the buildings, giving theoretical as well as practical courses, and taking
care of the dogs will require a lot of human resources, thus creating job and career opportunities for
both skilled and unskilled personnel from the whole region of Muğla.
… FOR DOGS:
Safety - No street dog in Akyaka should suffer or even die of diseases that can be cured or get injured
in car accidents that could be avoided. The THANK DOG paradise will provide them with a home,
medical care and a loving, safe environment.
Guidance - To re-connect the street dogs with humans, we will establish trusting relationships, thus
guiding them to live in a household environment again.
Connection - Of course our aim is to find new homes for as many street dogs as possible, while setting
a high standard for the adopting humans to fulfil. Naturally, those dogs who cannot be placed with
humans will have a home at the THANK DOG paradise for as long as they live!
